1976 Pittsburgh Comic Book Convention program book

Not a bad convention line-up. I would have been sure to head straight for the dining room.

Like most fan generated books, this one is filled with interesting fan art.

Swampy is mentioned in one of the articles and the illustration below may be one of John Totleben’s first printed Swampy illustrations.

Totleben graduated from high school in 1976 and in ’77 he entered into the Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Arts. The illustration is dated 1975, Totleben would not work on Swamp Thing until 1983, seven years later.
