Swamp Thing vs Arcane Gerhard Print (2012)
I recently picked up this beautiful print by Bernie Wrightson and Gerhard (Cerebus). The piece was commissioned by comics fan Charles Costas. Costas purchased the pencil sketch from Wrightson at a convention and commissioned Gerhard to ink it. The illustration is inspired by Swamp Thing #10 (series 1).

Wrightson’s sketch consisted of Arcane and Swamp Thing, alone. Gerhard illustrated the background and added his own style to the piece. Anyone familiar with Cerebus or Gerhard’s other work is well aware of the level of detail he puts into his illustrations.

The little faces and bodies growing off of Aracane are pretty wild.

I was lucky enough to obtain a signed print.
