This series is full of parody superhero and comic strip characters from all over (DC, Marvel, Vertigo, Aardvark, your local newspaper, etc.). Of the 12 issues in the normalman series, Swamp Thing made the roster in only one. If you read quickly you might even miss him.

This comic is ideal for those moments when you’re pondering, “did Swamp Thing ever appear in/with your favorite character here?”

  1. It’s hard to tell at this small size, but it looks like Marvelman is giving Captain Marvel kind of a resentful glare, which I guess makes sense in a way. I have to say that’s a pretty half-hearted drawing of Swamp Thing though.

By the way, I finally finished my (more or less) complete reread of the series so far. It ended up being about 29,000 words. I guess I’ll write something about the TV series a little later once it’s done.
